Building in the Wilden neighbourhood commenced in the early half of the ’00s. Originally developed as a Craftsman style neighbourhood in Kelowna with a very distinct feel. Wilden was much different than anything Kelowna had seen before. This is a large-scale, cohesive and well-planned enclave, with amenities that are growing each year. Today you’ll still find many a Craftsman style home, but there are also some great surprises in architecture when you venture into some of the latest Wilden hot spots. Modern farmhouses and contemporary architecture are more common than ever and are beginning to take hold along the steep Wilden streetscapes.
Since much of Wilden is carved into the Glenmore Highlands, you’ll find some unique terrain amongst the stunning lake vistas. Rock outcrops are commonplace as are hiking trails and natural ponds. This is a well-loved area for dog walkers and family strollers! The addition of pond-side townhomes and carriage homes brought in some more affordable options for those who wanted to get a foothold in Wilden. There is also a new elementary and shopping area coming to the Village of Wilden very soon.
With neighbourhood names like Skylands, Still Pond, and Hidden Lake Wilden exudes nature and the homes blend seamlessly in. Much of the shopping and schooling for residents of Wilden takes place “down the hill” in North Glenmore. North Glenmore has an exhaustive list of amenities and learning options for all ages.
